WRO Visit to Families in the IDP Community with UNHCR and World Vision
WRO staff, along with Nabeela Sweisat from UNHCR and Kathryn Hampton from World Vision visited an IDP community in Koya to see the living condition and needs of the families.
WRO staff, along with Nabeela Sweisat from UNHCR and Kathryn Hampton from World Vision visited an IDP community in Koya to see the living condition and needs of the families.
WRO's Jian Center in Koya,which provides psycho-social support, legal referral services, vocational trainings and works to establish a community based committee for the IDPs, refugees, and local members, was visited by Ms. Nabeela Sweisat from UNHCR and Kathryn Hampton from World Vision. Both organizations were very pleased with the motivated working staff and the center itself.
WRO meets with Godfried Wessels, the first secretary of the political affairs section of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to discuss coordination between the local NGOs and Governments and the situation of IDPs and Refugees.
Through its project partnered with WVI and UNHCR in Koya, WRO is working to establish a Community Based Protection Committee (CBPC) represented by members from the refugee, IDP and the host community and empower them to provide GBV protection support to the community through social cohesion.
