Timeline: April 1, 2011 – April 31, 2011

Project Objective: To raise women’s awareness of the legal, health and religious implications of Female Genital Mutilation and work towards to eradication of its practice.

Project Description: Provided local women with information and resources on the legal, health and religious aspects of FGM.

Project Outcomes: 1,200 women in Erbiland and Soran participated in educational sessions and increased their knowledge of the negative and harmful impact of the practice of FGM.
