POULTRY TRAINING PROJECT

Timeline: June 2012 – July 2012

Project Objective: Provide income generation opportunities for rural, widowed women in order to improve their standard of living.

Project Description: The Poultry Production project provided 60 Women in 2 villages (Khezne & Muafaqiya) in the Ninewa Governorate with the skills and resources to farm poultry for the purpose of generating income.

Participating women were provided with a two-month training in poultry husbandry. Each woman received 15 hens and 3 roosters, feed, pens and all other equipment needed required for the maintenance of the chickens.
