Timeline: November 2010 – February 2011

Project Objective: To build up capacity of peace building researchers and transformers to identify and map conflict dynamics at the local governance level in the disputed area of Pirbab village in Nineveh province with the goal of bringing understanding and tolerance between the two sides of the dispute and bring in the voices for a resolution.

Project Description: The conflict assessment and identification project trained three researches in the field of peace building and transformation to use various researching techniques such as questionnaires, focus groups, and interviews.

Various meetings was held with tribe leaders and local governance. A conference was held in the city that hosted 126 people from the village of Pirbab to hear the results of the research and recommendation for a peaceful resolution.
